Chulu West peak is located in a small valley north of Manang which is away from the major trail to the Thorung La. Actually there are two Chulu Peaks, East and West. Chulu West (6419m.) is the higher peak among the two East Chulu and West Chulu. The Chulu West Peak presents an attention-grabbing peak mountaineering chance for those looking for an adventure in the Annapurna Region. While climbing the peak, we will also be gifted to enjoy magnificent views of peaks like Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Nilgiri (7061m.), Annapurna (8091m.), and other gigantic peaks. However, climbing the Chulu West Peak demands a good physical state and a high degree of vigor.

Chulu West peak is the division of the Manang Himal, which is rather precisely included in the larger Damodar Himal. In the north-to-south direction we can see the flow of rivers- Hunlung Khola, Nar Khola and Phu Khola. To the south it is enclosed by the Marsyangdi Khola and the Mesokanta La.

Chulu west peak tour start from Beshi Sahar after 5-6 hour drive from Kathmandu and from Beshi Sahar the ascend up slowly towards Manang valley, one of the top valleys of the world situated at an altitude of 5000m. And, from Manang valley the way leads north to the Chulu West Base camp.

Arrival at Kathmandu

When you will be arrived at the international airport of Nepal, a representative of the Destination Unlimited Treks and Expeditions will be there to receive you. Then you will be guided towards one of the best hotels of the Kathmandu by the representative. The night will be fun at the hotel enjoying the dinners with the friends and crew members.

Kathmandu to Besisahar

From Kathmandu, we will drive towards the Besisahar after having the delicious breakfast at the hotel of Kathmandu. The driving will be beautiful as well as enchanting as the en route beauty will mesmerizes us in many aspects. The drive will continue for about 7 to 8 hours through the main road. The night will be at Besisahar.

Besisahar to Bahundanda

From Besisahar, we will begin our trekking officially. We have to follow the Marsyangdi River while moving ahead at the Bahundanda. Similarly, we can see several beautiful forests, suspension bridges and waterfalls while trekking at this region. The trekking trail goes for about 6 to 7 hours offering the great and panoramic scene of the surroundings.

Bahundanda to Chamje

From Bahundanda, we will walk towards the Chamje viewing the panoramic scene of the surrounding. We have to descend through the forest at the beginning and thereafter the trekking trail will begin to rise towards the Chamje village to the altitude of 1430m above sea level. The trekking will continues for about 5 to 6 hours through the main trail to Chamje.

Chamje to Bagarchap

From Chamje, we will cross the suspension bridges of the Marsyangdi River and enter into the Manang districts at the Tal village. From Tal, we will continue to walk to reach at the Dharapani and ultimately to the Bagarchap at the altitude of 2160m.

Bagarchap to Chame

From Bagarchap, our trekking will continue towards the Chame following the beautiful forest of the rhododendron and juniper. We will pass through some of the typical Tibetan villages while trekking towards the Chame. Chame is the headquarters of Manang districts situating at the altitude of 2670m above sea level.

Chame to Lower Pisang

From Chame, we will trek towards the lower Pisang following the narrow steep path that goes all the way through the dense forest of pine and rhododendrons. During the trek, we will get the pleasuring view of the high mountains through our naked eyes. Walking for few hours through the main trail will take us to the altitude of 3200m at lower Pisang.

Lower Pisang to Nawal village

From Pisang village, we will trek towards the Nawal village. We need to pass through the Gyaru village viewing the typical picture of the high mountains from these places. Then the journey will be continuing towards the Nawal village after the short rest at the Gyaru village. Nawal village has a beautiful monastery which is absolutely a place to visit along with the cave which is situated just above the Nawal village. Nawal village is at the altitude of 3657m.

Nawal village to Manang village

From Nawal village, we will walk towards the Manang village. The trekking route from Nawal village to Manang village is short and easy too. The beautiful view of the vegetations along with the landscapes will make the journey further easy. The night will be at Manang village at the altitude of 3450m.

Manang to Ledar

After exploring the Manang village, we will trek towards the beautiful places of Ledar enjoying the great scenario of the surroundings. We will firstly head towards the Yak Kharka enjoying the glorious view of the pasturelands of the region. After spending several times at the yak Kharka we will move towards the Ledar. The Ledar is situated at the altitude of 4200m above sea level. We can see the glorious view of the Chulu peak from this place.

Ledar to Base camp

From Ledar, we will walk towards the base cmap of the Chulu peak at the western side. This day trekking will provide us real expedition towards the Chulu peak. The night will be at the tented camp at the altitude of 4400m.

Base camp to high camp

From the base camp of the Chulu peak, we will trek towards the high camp of the peak enjoying the great scenario of the surroundings. The trekking will continue for about 3 to 4 hours through the rough surface to reach at the high camp of the Chulu west peak. The high camp is at the altitude of 4685m above sea level.

Trek to camp 1

From the high camp of the Chulu west, we will trek towards the camp 1 to the altitude of 5300m above sea level. The trail goes through the rocky trail and snowy way. The night will be at the camp 1.

Camp 1 to camp 2

Early morning we will wake up at the land of snow and after having the refreshing breakfast we will head towards the camp 2 of the Chulu peak. The trail will be difficult with the altitude. So, we have to keep acclimatizing ourselves during the hiking from the camp 1 to camp 2. The night we will stay at the altitude of 5700m above sea level.

Camp 2 to summit and back to camp 1

Today is the main day of our trekking and journey. We will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the great view of the surroundings. Then we will continue to walk towards the summit of the Chulu west. The view of the adjoining mountains from the top of the Chulu west will be glorious to watch. After reaching at the summit, we will be back to the camp 1 retrieving the same way.

Back to Ledar

From the camp 1, we will return towards the Ledar leaving our footprints in the land of the Chulu west peak. The leisure time that we may get at the Ledar will be interesting to spend exploring around the palces or can be a good resting time after the long and tiring trek to the top. The night will be at Ledar enjoying with friends.

Ledar to high camp

From the Ledar, we will walk towards the beautiful region of the high camp. The glorious view of the high mountains while trekking will be mesmerizing. We will stop at the Thorong Phedi to have the lunch and after having the lunch we will walk towards the high lands of the Thorong la pass. Thus, the night will be at the altitude of 4800m above sea level.

High camp to Muktinath

From the high camp we will cross the Thorung la situating at the altitude of 5416m and will descend towards the Muktinath. While trekking from the Thorung la, we will be glittered with the best view of the surroundings. The outstanding vie of the surroundings will be mesmerizing to watch and enjoy. The night will be at Muktinath at the altitude of 3800m after the trekking of about 6 to 7 hours.

trek to Jomsom

From Muktinath, we will visit the Muktinath temple early in the morning and will continue our journey following the main trail to Jomsom passing through several villages like Jharkot. Jharkot is a beautiful and traditional village rich in its own culture and tradition. We will then follow the kali Gandaki River while walking towards the Jomsom which is situated at the altitude of 2700m above sea level.

Fly to Pokhara

From Jomsom, we will take the early morning flight to Pokhara. The flight will enables us to view the glorious view of the high and snow capped mountains while returning towards the Pokhara. The flight will go for several minutes back to Pokhara. The leisure time will be spending at the Pokhara visiting the wonderful places of the Pokhara.

Pokhara to Kathmandu

From Pokhara, we will drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the glorious view of the surroundings. The en route beauty along with the combination of the settlements of the local people will be mesmerizing to watch and enjoy. The drive will takes about 7 to 8 hours through the main road to be back at the Kathmandu from Pokhara. The night will be interesting at Kathmandu.

Farewell

After the completion of the exhilarating tour at the high Himalayan of Nepal, it's time to move towards our own destination i.e. our home. We will pack our luggage and will move towards the airport to catch the returning flight. The farewell party organizes by the Destination Unlimited Treks and Expeditions will be enjoying. During the flight we will reassemble the memories that we have gained during the exciting tour of Nepal.
