Trip Overview

Humla Simikot trekking will leads us to the far western region of Nepal to the remote area having unique life style and beautiful landscapes. This is one of the remote areas trekking of Nepal. This region is less touristed and unexplored region of Nepal. Simikot is the district headquarters of Humla. Being one of the isolated areas it offers us best scene of the surrounding. The Limi valley is full of gorgeous scene all around. This place looks like desert due to absence of water and trees. Mostly the people of the region are of Tibetan tribe. The lifestyle and the culture of the people living at Homla Simikot are same as Tibetan people. Due to beautiful landscapes the trekking it is increasing day by day. The place is opened for trekking only since 2002.

The journey to this beautiful region begins from Kathmandu with the flight over to Nepalgunj and if possible then to Simikot also. Then the trekking will officially begins with the trek on the main trekking route of the region. We will climb up to the Nara la pass and then to Nyalu pass. We will get so many opportunities to enjoy the good view of the surrounding. We can visit some of the monasteries of the way. The main focus of this trek is to view the beautiful and picturesque view of the surrounding. While making our trek, we can see many types of animals and birds. Similarly, the varieties of plants will also be explored able. We will pass through several settlements of the people which will provide us some knowledge about their lifestyle, culture and tradition.

Arrival to Kathmandu

After getting at the flight from your local airport, you will enter into the beautiful and of Nepal viewing the best scene of mountains from the flight. The beautiful scenario will always be there to welcomes you along with the helpful members of the Destination Unlimited Treks and Expeditions. The representative will guides you towards the hotel room of the Kathmandu to spend the mean time in Kathmandu.

Flight to Nepalgunj

Early morning after having the breakfast, we will move towards the airport to catch the flight over to Nepalgunj. The flight will offers us great scene of the surrounding from the top. Nepalgunj is a hot city so we may find it trouble to visit around the place. The night will be at Nepalgunj visiting around the market place and resting at one of the renowned hotel.

Nepalgunj to Simikot

From Nepalgunj, we can take the flight over to Simikot. The flight goes for about 50 minutes. It is possible to continue our journey towards the Dharapuri but we will spend some time at Simikot visiting around the area. The scenic beauty of Simikot will be surely dazzling.

Trek to Dharapuri

From Simikot, we will begin our journey following the trail to Dharapuri. Walking for about 4 to 5 hours will be enough to complete our today's objective. The Dharapuri is at the altitude of 2300m above sea level. The night will be at Dharapuri at the tented camp.

Trek to Kermi

From Dharapuri, we will walk towards the Kermi following the main trail. We will follow the Karnali River. We will then pass through the beautiful cultivated area of this region. The trekking hour for this trekking is only 3 to 4 hours. So, we can take rest for some hours. We will take rest for the night at the Kermi at the altitude of 2670m.

Kermi to Yalbang

From Kermi, we will walk towards the Yalbang. Walking for several hours will lead us to the small pass and after crossing the suspension bridge over the small river we will enter into the beautiful forest of pine. We will continue to walk for about 5 to 6 hours until we will reach at Yalbang at the altitude of 3020m.

Trek to Muchu and to Tumkot

We will resume our journey by walking towards the Muchu. We will continue our journey viewing the rocky mountain and pine trees of the surrounding. A little farther we will need to cross a suspension bridge and then onwards we will walk continuously to the Muchu at the altitude of 3120m after the trekking of about 5 to 6 hours. From Muchu, we will walk towards the Tumkot following the main trail. On the way, we can see a monastery which will be worth visiting. After visiting the monastery, we will walk towards the Tumkot following the main trail.

Tumkot to Yari

From Tumkot, the main trail will lead us towards the Yari or Thado Dhunga. We will follow the steep way through the rockier path. We will pass through one of the small village of this place name as Pani Palwang. Continuing the journey for about 5 to 6 hours will be enough for us to reach at Thado Dhunga. The night will be spectacular at Thado Dhunga.

Trek to Hilsa

Crossing the Nara la pass, we will heads towards the Hilsa. The Nara la pass is at the altitude of 4620m above sea level. The pass will offer us great scenario of the surrounding. Walking for about 6 to 7 hours will reach us to the beautiful region of Hilsa at the altitude of 3720m. the night will be spectacular at Hilsa.

Hilsa to Manepeme

From Hilsa, we will cross the metal bridge to walk towards the Manepeme. We will follow the Karnali River to reach at Manepeme. We will walk at the magnificent land of the region. Walking for about 5 to 6 hours will be enough for us to reach at the Manepeme at the altitude of 3990m.

Trek to Til

From Manepeme, we will walk towards the Til following the main trail. Til is a very beautiful place of this region. We will pass through several caves along with some juniper forest of the way. Continuing our journey for about 6 to 7 hours will be enough for us to reach at Til. The night will be at Til at the altitude of 4000m above sea level.

Trek to Halji

From Til, Halji is just about 3 hours far away. The trek will be easy. We can spend some of our time at the village viewing the surrounding area. The Halji is at the altitude of about 3660m above sea level. The night will be spectacular at Halji.

Halji to Jang

From Halji, we will walk towards the Jang. We will walk through the Limi Khola. Jang is the last village of the Limi valley. It is a very beautiful place of this region. The people of this place follow Tibetan culture. Jang is at the altitude of 3930m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 4 to 5 hours through the main trail.

Trek to Talung

From Jang, our trail will move towards the Talung. We will leave the Limi valley to move towards the Talung to the altitude of 4370m. Due to high altitude, we need to acclimatize ourselves during the whole trek. Walking for about 8 hours will be enough to reach at Talung.

Talung to Shinjungma

From Talung, we will cross the Nyalu La pass at the altitude of 4949m above sea level. After viewing the glorious view of the surrounding from the Nyalu la pass, we will walk towards the Shinjungma to the altitude of 3620m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 7 to 8 hour through the rough surface of the region. The night will be at Shinjungma.

Trek to Kermi

We will return back to Kermi following the same trail. We have to descend down to the height of 3000m. The walking route is not so difficult which goes through the forest of pine and birch. We will follow the Sali Khola which will later join the Karnali River. Walking for about 7 to 8 hours will leads us to Kermi situating at the altitude of 2670m.

Trek to Simikot

From Kermi village, we will retrace the way back to Simikot. The trail will continue for about 6 to 7 hour through the main trail until we will reach at Simikot. The trekking route will offers us great view of the surrounding. The night will be at Simikot enjoying with friends with the celebration party.

Simikot to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu

From Simikot, we will catch the flight over to Nepalgunj. The flight takes about 50 minutes for us to reach at the Nepalgunj. After landing at the Nepalgunj, we will catch another flight over to Kathmandu. If we are unsatisfied from the journey and still want to visit, then we can visit around the Nepalgunj doing some necessary shopping. We will move further towards the Kathmandu viewing the scene from the flight. The flight will be remarkable indeed. The night will be at Kathmandu at the local hotels resting full night.

Farewell

From Kathmandu, after having the early morning breakfast, we will move towards the airport to catch the flight to our respective destination.
