Mani Rimdu festival is the great festival celebrates by the Sherpa people of Khumbu region which is falls on immediately after the October’s full moon day. The main attractions of Mani Rimdu festival are The Sand Mandala, The Fire Puja and The Mask dance of Monks. It consists of a nine days meditation sequence and ends with three days public blessing ceremonies which starts with the blowing of horns in the afternoon after which the abbot of the monastery accompanied by other monks chant prayers. The worshippers are blessed and given holy water and fortunate pellets for good luck and long life. An orchestra of cymbals, horns, flutes, and conch shells proclaims the start of the second day’s celebrations in which numerous Monks in colorful dress with masks perform dances. On the last day, Tormas (symbol of devils) are consigned to a sacred fire. According to the Sherpa belief if the Tormas are consigned to a sacred fire it ends the negative forces and invite bless. During this festival time Sherpa people around the Everest region and interested trekkers around the world gathered in Tehgboche monastery.

Arrival at Kathmandu

After getting in the flight from your local airport, you will enter into the beautiful valleys of the Himalayas which will enables you about your arrival to neap without getting off the plane. The beautiful scene of the white snow capped mountains will be there for throughout the year to welcome you. You will land at the international airport of Nepal then a representative of Destination Unlimited Treks and Expeditions will guide you towards the hotel room of Nepal.

Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding

From Kathmandu, we will have the scenic flight over to the beautiful region of Lukla. The flight will goes for several minutes to reach at the Lukla airport viewing the wonderful view of the surrounding. Then after landing at the Lukla, we will trek towards the beautiful region of Phakding. The trekking goes for about 3 to 4 hours through the main trail. The night will be at Phakding at the altitude of 264m.

Phakding to Namche bazaar

From Phakding, we will move towards the Namche bazaar. The trekking will goes for about 5 to 65 hours through the beautiful and busy trekking route of the region. The night will be spectacular at the Namche bazaar at one of the best lodges with friends at the altitude of 3440m above sea level.

Namche bazaar to Tengboche

From Namche bazaar, we will walk towards the beautiful region of Tengboche. Tengboche is famous for the beautiful and traditional monasteries of the region. We need to walk for about 4 to 5 hours through the main trail to reach at the Tengboche to the elevation of 3850m. We will begin to celebrate the Mani Rimdu festivals from here.

Today is the main day of the festival at this region. We will observe the main day of the festival as the mask dance of local people in the Mani Rimdu festival at the ground of the monastery. Festival closing day

Today is the final day of the Mani Rimdu festival. We will enjoy the final day at the monastery and will rest at the leisure time at the lodges of the Tengboche. If we are not tired then we can visit around the region to view the best glance of the surrounding.

Trek towards the Khumjung

From Tengboche, we will trek towards the Khumjung viewing the beautiful scene of the surrounding. Khumjung is the beautiful and largest settlement of the region. This place is dominantly covered by the Sherpa people. We can see a school at Khumjung. The night will be spectacular at the altitude of 3780m above sea level.

Khumjung to Phakding

From Khumjung, we will trek towards the Phakding following the same path through the beautiful region. The trail will offer us best scene of the surrounding. The night will be enjoying at the Phakding with the friends.

Phakding to Lukla

From Phakding, we will retrieve the way back to Lukla enjoying the scenic view of the surrounding. We will rest at the leisure time that we may get after the trek to Lukla. The night, we will enjoy the last dinner at the land of Himalayas with the friends.

Lukla to Kathmandu

From Lukla, we will catch the flight to Kathmandu. The scenic flight goes for several minutes. We will land at the international airport of Nepal. From the airport, we will move towards the hotel room. We will rest at the leisure time. The night we will enjoy the dinner with the friends at the hotel at Kathmandu.

Farewell

From Kathmandu, we will move towards the airport to catch the flight to our own nation. We will surely enjoy the early morning breakfast at the hotel.
